The Story
Indigo and her three brothers are raccoons living among the Little Bear Clan on Tacatacura. Because of her lineage and a struggle to control the island’s resources she has been threatened since birth. Now at 13 moons of age, she and her brothers have left the safety of their mother’s den to make their way. While scouting the North Marsh, Indigo encounters a raccoon and boar destroying a sea turtle nest and rescues a besieged armadillo. When she reports what she has seen to the raccoon council, the chiefs of the Northern Clans charge her with the duty to travel to the island of Missoe as ‘The Seeker’ to find an oracle. Reluctantly, Indigo soon finds herself in a dugout canoe crossing the perilous ocean.
